We thought that a date in mid-May would ensure some stellar weather for Buzzy’s Bees Ninth Annual Golf Tournament. On Saturday, May 17, hearty space travelers spent the morning on the par 3 course at Sah-Hah-Lee, braving puddles, getting soaked, and having a splashing good time.
Lunch and beverages in the shelter gave everyone a chance to dry off. Tables held lovely vases of flowers with children’s names. Thank you, Amy. Prizes were awarded. We appreciate Thrivent Action Teams for their support. Three raffle ticket winners took home lovely gift baskets provided by Therese and friends. There were games for all ages – thank you Danielle, Julie and Nate. Guess which team was the costume winner?
With a light mist falling, the mini-golfers found their starting holes and enjoyed a relatively dry and pleasant orbit around the lovely course.
As with every golf event, we paused to name and remember the little ones in whose memory we gather. It is a very real and down to earth ache that travels through life with each family of loss.
This tournament helps fulfill our mission to change grief culture and support bereaved families. Proceeds from the event go toward our Financial Gifts program which allows families to fill a need they have, without restrictions. Buzzy’s Bees continues to grow and become a resource that hospitals, social workers, law enforcement, “hive members” and many others rely on to assist others that are looking for support.
Be on the lookout for our Spring 2026 date and plan to join us for the day!
