Rethinking Stages of Grief
Grief has been with me for seven long years. It has taken a lot of unpacking and processing to sit where I do today. I recognized early in my grieving that it is about
On October 23, 2021, we hosted an intimate afternoon gathering of love, art, and camaraderie at Hop Capital Brewing in southwest Portland, as we unveiled the commissioned art pieces inspired by the 13 families who shared their stories with our Give Grief a Voice project this year.
The event included a panel discussion made up of Buzzy’s Bees writers, artists, and supported families. Visit the livestream for an opportunity to hear the origin story of the Give Grief a Voice (GGaV) project, the growth of the program, and the program’s goals.
Alongside this event, we held a public virtual art auction featuring donated pieces by over 15 talented artists. In total, we raised $3500.
Thank you to each and every one of our bidders, supporters, artists, and community members for supporting Buzzy’s Bee’s mission of providing financial relief and emotional support to families who have suddenly lost a child. We could not have done it without our hive!
The event was captured beautifully by a reporter from the Southwest Connection, read about the event through her eyes here.
We hope to return to a larger, public event in 2022.
